Why do I RELAY?

Well, most of you are aware that in the fall of 2008 I was diagnosed with Melanoma Skin Cancer. Luckily we caught it in time and it was easily removed through 3 different surgeries. Since that time, my doctors have not found any new spots. Even though that is very good news for me, it doesn't mean I am free and clear. For the rest of my life I will have to have full body scans every 3 months - and if I make it to 10 years without any new cancer forming my doctor will back the scans off to every 6 months. Along with the full body scans I have to have a lung xray every year because if the cancer spreads there is a 95% change that it will go to my lungs first - and I have never smoked a cigarette a day in my life. And most importantly I relay for my kids. I want to see a cure for this horrible disease in my life time so my kids never have to hear the words,

"you have cancer."
